The February election of a Warren County Republican Committee chairman was invalidated — 19 to 5 — by the Sixth District Republican Committee, because it was not conducted according to the meeting call. The Republican Party of Virginia unanimously upheld that decision.

Now the Sixth District is administering the “Re-Do” election for WCRC Chairman, and Silek is trying to buy his way to a majority — paying the dues for the first 250 supporters who apply. We are asking the Sixth District to administer the Official Call exactly as written. And we are asking you to join the committee — the right way.

What is happening

The Official Call requires every membership applicant to enclose their own $50 dues with their own application, and to sign a personal certification:

Under the Call, the first 250 applicants become the Warren County Republican Committee. One candidate is financing bulk applications to fill that queue with recruited signatures — each one certifying an enclosure the signer never made. Republicans tell the country that election rules written down in advance must be followed as written. That has to be true in our own house first.

What we are asking the Sixth District to do

• Accept only applications that conform to the Call — each application accompanied by that applicant’s own dues, consistent with the certification each applicant signs.
• Return nonconforming packets to the campaign that submitted them, so individual applicants can resubmit with their own payment before the deadline.
• Administer the caucus with strict impartiality — no accommodation or processing method for any campaign that is not equally available to all, with first-come, first-served order documented and preserved.

These requests apply to every campaign equally — including Scott Lloyd’s. Any application supporting his candidacy that fails to conform should be returned on identical terms.

The strongest answer to a bought queue is a committee full of members who joined by the book. It takes ten minutes and your own $50. Here is exactly how to do it in full conformity with the Official Call:

• Download and print the Official Filing Form. Check the box: “I wish to be a member of the Warren County Republican Committee.”
• Write your own check or money order for $50 to “Warren County Republican Committee” with “Member Dues” on the memo line. The certification you sign says you enclosed it — so you enclose it.
• Sign and complete the form yourself. Every line, your own hand.
• Deliver your application with your payment attached — the Call permits delivery by mail or in person. Mail it to Sixth District Secretary Barbra Knupp, 1338 Meadowlark Drive, Harrisonburg, VA 22802, or use the drop-off below. Either way it must be received by 5:00 p.m., Monday, August 3. Applications cannot be emailed.

Prefer not to mail it? Drop it off in Front Royal

Bring your completed application — with your own check or money order enclosed — to the Lloyd campaign office at [office address], Front Royal, [days/hours]. We will hand-deliver it to the District Secretary, as the Call expressly permits. We say so openly, and we deliver every application exactly as you hand it to us: your form, your signature, your payment. We will not accept an application without the applicant’s own payment attached — that is the whole point.

Then come vote in the Firehouse Primary on August 5, 4:00–8:00 p.m., at the Old Gymnasium, Warren County Health and Human Services Complex, 465 W. 15th Street, Front Royal. Voting is free and open to qualified Warren County voters — committee membership is not required to vote.
